I have a brand new business that I just created. It is an internet marketing business because those are the most lucrative in this day and age. One of the few businesses that does not get effected too much from the bad economy. So anyway, it was so much to plan but I planned it just fine. I had been starting on a shoestring budget. And thought about taking out a loan or applying for a grant but it seemed like so much trouble to do. So I decided not to bother creating a business plan and used what I had. So I made sure I had the bare basics, and I did. I have my computer, office supplies and my home office. Those can be written off no problem. But since I wanted to give my new business a professional image, I went to buy plastic business cards and they turned out amazing! They are impressive and very attractive.
So I started to hand them out, and already got a few clients. It was exciting. Because I am on a limited budget I could not go all out on advertising. However, I also put a banner on my car advertising my business and I don't think I had gotten more business from that. However, at least slowly clients started trickling in. Proves that you can start a business even on a shoestring budget. Sure it is harder with little money to spend on advertising, but it can be done and in time you can expand.
